Aata Majhi Satakli ! Sonu Tyagi Slams Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 as a Disappointing Ride, More Fizzle than Frights

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has finally hit the theaters amid much hype, boasting a star-studded cast and the legacy of a successful franchise. With excitement, I decided to watch the film at Juhu PVR along with my friend, Prem Agarwal, a pioneer in waste management and sanitation and Founder of Brijwasi Biotech last Wednesday on 6th November. However, what started with high hopes and expectations quickly turned into a disappointing experience.

The movie opens with a promising tone, offering a few genuine laughs within the first 30 minutes. There are some lighthearted moments involving a cow that manage to get the audience chuckling, hinting at what could have been a humorous rollercoaster. But sadly, that’s about as far as the laughter goes. After the initial set-up, the film loses steam, and what should be a suspenseful journey turns into a tiresome experience. About 40–50 minutes in, the plot falters, and it becomes clear that the film is struggling to maintain both its humor and narrative coherence.

The characters in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are confusing and bizarrely unrealistic. Sanjay Mishra and Rajpal Yadav, both highly talented actors known for their sharp comedic timing, are given dialogues that fall flat. Their jokes are neither funny nor situationally appropriate, and the humor feels forced rather than organic. Instead of eliciting laughter, their scenes often lead to frustration as they attempt to make sense of an incoherent script.

The greatest disservice, however, is done to Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. Both phenomenal actresses, they are shockingly underutilized in this film. Their roles are reduced to that of aimless spirits with no clear purpose or connection to the plot. Rather than bringing depth or intrigue, their appearances feel like a gimmick, added simply to check a box rather than contribute to the story. Watching these talented women struggle in such underwhelming roles was perhaps the biggest disappointment.

At the end of this long, lackluster watch, I couldn’t help but wonder how Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 managed to generate the initial excitement it did. Given the tedious screenplay, it’s puzzling to see such high praise from early reviews and rumors of staggering box office collections. It’s as if Bollywood has once again resorted to hype over quality, making me question the authenticity of these glowing reports. Fake box office numbers are sadly becoming as predictable as the plot twists in some of these films.

Ultimately, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is an exercise in lost potential, leaving fans of the franchise craving the suspense, charm, and wit that made the original so enjoyable.
