“Biggest Film City in Noida will change the Dynamics of Bollywood & Film Production in India” Writer / Director Sanjeev Tyagi

We have all known Sanjeev Tyagi as a director of TV serials. To know more about him, we tap the director for a telephonic conversation while he is directing his latest science serial Karishma Kudrat Ka. He belongs to Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh and will be directing a Web series soon & a film later which are based in Uttar Pradesh.

Please tell us about the serial?

Well, this serial is based on science. Most of it has been shot in Noida. It shows what kind of magic is played by nature on the human being. This has been made for Doordarshan. Then,I am making a web-series that will also be shot in UP. The shooting of the same would be done in Pratapgarh. You would be pleased to know that I love doing serials on nature. Like, I have done a
15-minute documentary on Mushroom, a documentary of the same timing on Water Melon, a 20-minute film on school of Agriculture. Then I have done a five-serial 13 episode serial based on the awarded short stories of late Smt.Nirmala Agarwala that was telecast on DD Kashmir. I have done a 13 episode serial on various concepts of Physics activity- for NCSTE, dept of Science technology. Then I have done Kankaal Tantra, a 20 minute film in English/Hindi for National Science Centre, New Delhi etc.

Give us your views on the recent announcement of the UP chief minister to make a grand film city in Noida?

When I first came to know about the same, my joy knew no bounds. The chief minister has done a very good thing by taking a personal interest in making of the film city. Till yet, the film city was functioning as a shooting floor but not now, when the film city will come up.

You may know that these days most films are shot outdoors. I can categorically say that out of 100 films, 50 of them are shot in UP. As far as I know that the upcoming film city will do a lot of benefit to the film fraternity not only in UP but to the whole of India. Many interested people will not have to go here and there to pursue their acting skills. Moreover, this activity will give employment to thousands. Finally, let me tell you that the people of Uttar Pradesh are very cooperative.

Tell us more about your activities?
I am empanelled with the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Agriculture (Govt, of India), NCSTC, Dept. Of Science and Technology (Govt. of India), Indira Gandhi National Open University (EMPC), National Science Centre-New Delhi, Doordarshan (PPC Guwahati) Doordarshan, Doordarshan Kashir Channel, Vigyan Prasar.  (NFDC).

Sanjeev ji when did you enter the line?

I started film making since 1994.

Do artistes of film serials that you make, are from the Delhi or from Bollywood?
First and foremost, you should be aware that the serials that I make mostly comprise of scientific topicsandnot the usual types. If you ask me, I have worked with actors of the South, Bollywood and even Kashmiri artistes.

Like in Mumbai, are there restrictions while shooting?

I don’t know much about the same but as far as I know, there are no such restrictions here and finally my subjects are not artistes but objects.

How do you maintain social distancing?

Here we maintain this procedure as is practised all over the world.
