Approach Bollywood brings you a delightful recommendation: the charming Polish romantic comedy No Pressure (original title: Nic na siłę), streaming on Netflix, is a true breath of fresh air filled with warmth, laughter, and heartfelt moments.

The film’s engaging plot follows a successful city chef cleverly tricked by her grandmother into returning to their quaint village to save the family farm, unleashing hilarious mishaps, a tender romance, and profound life lessons.

The sharp and witty screenplay shines with laugh-out-loud comedy situations drawn from quirky farm life and adorable animals, beautifully emphasizing love for nature, creatures, and community.

Particularly touching is the heartwarming bond between the grandmother and granddaughter – a profound portrayal of unconditional love, family traditions, and legacy. The naturally unfolding love story is set against stunning Polish village landscapes, lush green fields, and vibrant small-town community living that evokes a longing for simpler times.

The cast delivers superb performances across the board, with special praise for the grandmother (Anna Seniuk) and her endearing mischief, the granddaughter (Anna Szymańczyk) on her relatable journey, her love interest (Mateusz Janicki), and the ensemble that brings the village vividly to life.

This highly engaging and entertaining film is the ultimate feel-good experience that leaves you smiling and uplifted. Highly recommended – watch No Pressure and feel good!

Directed by Bartosz Prokopowicz, No Pressure continues to win hearts worldwide with its celebration of family, love, animals, and rural charm.

As the Founder of Approach Entertainment and Go Spiritual, I am thrilled to share my heartfelt recommendation for the cinematic gem, Idli Kadai, directed by and starring the immensely talented Dhanush. In a world where films often chase spectacle over substance, this Tamil masterpiece stands out as a beacon of meaningful storytelling, blending entertainment with profound social and spiritual messages that resonate deeply with our values at Go Spiritual.

The plot of Idli Kadai is a refreshing ode to simplicity and roots. It follows a young man who leaves his rural village for the bustling opportunities in Bangkok in pursuit of dreams, only to return and revive his family’s humble idli shop amid challenges from his past. This narrative arc beautifully captures the essence of rediscovering one’s heritage, making tough choices for family, and confronting adversities with grace. The storyline is masterfully woven, with twists that keep you engaged while never losing sight of its emotional core—it’s a feel-good journey that leaves you inspired and reflective.

What truly elevates this film are its powerful social messages. At its heart is the principle of ahimsa (non-violence), portrayed not as a preach but through subtle, everyday acts of kindness and resolution without aggression—even in the face of vengeance and conflict. The emphasis on caring for parents and honoring familial love is profoundly moving, reminding us of the sacred duty to nurture those who raised us. Equally poignant is the celebration of village life and unity—the film paints a vivid picture of community bonds, where neighbors support each other like family, highlighting how collective harmony can overcome individualism and urban isolation. These themes align perfectly with our mission at Go Spiritual to promote spiritual awareness, compassion, and ethical living.

The emotional moments in Idli Kadai are nothing short of magical. From tender family reunions to heartfelt confrontations with past regrets, the film tugs at your heartstrings without resorting to melodrama. Each scene builds layers of empathy, making you laugh, cry, and cheer in equal measure. The characters are richly developed, each with their own depth and relatability—from the resilient protagonist to the wise elders and supportive loved ones—creating a tapestry of human experiences that feels authentic and universal.

Speaking of performances, Dhanush delivers a tour de force as both actor and director. His portrayal is nuanced, blending vulnerability, determination, and charm in a way that anchors the entire film. Sathyaraj brings gravitas and intensity to his role, infusing it with layers of complexity that make his character unforgettable. Rajkiran’s paternal wisdom shines through, evoking a sense of timeless guidance and warmth that perfectly embodies the film’s themes of parental love. Nithya Menen is luminous, her performance radiating strength, empathy, and subtle emotion that adds a beautiful feminine perspective to the story. The supporting cast, including Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, R. Parthiban, and P. Samuthirakani, all excel, contributing to a cohesive ensemble where no role feels overlooked—each actor breathes life into their characters with authenticity and finesse.

Idli Kadai is more than a film; it’s a spiritual and emotional upliftment that encourages us to embrace non-violence, cherish family ties, and find joy in simple, unified living. I highly recommend it to audiences seeking cinema that entertains while enriching the soul. Kudos to the entire team for this blockbuster family entertainer!

Lulli (2021), a Brazilian comedy-drama directed by César Rodrigues, is a delightful and heartwarming cinematic experience that effortlessly weaves humor, emotional depth, and meaningful life lessons into a captivating 90-minute journey. Available on Netflix, this film starring the effervescent Larissa Manoela is a must-watch for anyone seeking a story that entertains while gently nudging us to reflect on compassion, relationships, and the importance of truly listening. At Approach Bollywood, Approach Entertainment, and Go Spiritual, we celebrate stories that inspire personal growth and connection, and Lulli delivers this in spades.

The plot follows Lulli Flores, a brilliant but self-absorbed medical student with dreams of becoming a top surgeon. Her world turns upside down after an accident involving an electromagnetic resonance device grants her the extraordinary ability to hear people’s thoughts. This unique premise sets the stage for a transformative journey, as Lulli navigates the chaos of unspoken truths while learning to empathize and connect with those around her. The narrative cleverly uses this supernatural twist to explore universal themes of self-discovery and human connection, making it both relatable and thought-provoking.

At its core, Lulli is a story about compassion and the power of listening. Lulli’s newfound ability forces her to confront the unfiltered thoughts of her peers, family, and colleagues, revealing their insecurities, desires, and struggles. This premise beautifully underscores the importance of empathy in relationships, whether romantic, familial, or professional. The film reminds us that true understanding comes not from assumptions but from pausing to hear others—a message that resonates deeply in today’s fast-paced world. For viewers of Approach Bollywood and Go Spiritual, this aligns with our belief in fostering mindfulness and meaningful connections through storytelling.

The film’s exploration of relationships is another highlight. Lulli’s interactions with her love interest Diego (Vinícius Redd), her friend Vanessa (Amanda de Godoi), and her family, including her mother Miriam (Luciana Braga), are layered with authenticity and heart. The romantic subplot between Lulli and Diego is sweet and genuine, while her friendships evolve as she learns to prioritize others’ feelings over her own ambitions. These dynamics are portrayed with warmth and humor, making the characters feel like people we know and root for.

Lulli also offers a refreshing take on the world of medicine and the media. As a medical student, Lulli’s drive to excel in a high-stakes field is relatable, but her journey reveals the human side of doctors—flawed, vulnerable, and in need of balance. The film subtly critiques the pressure to prioritize career over connection, a theme that resonates with professionals in any demanding industry. Additionally, the media world is touched upon through Lulli’s exposure to others’ perceptions, offering a light commentary on how public personas often mask private truths. This blend of personal and professional growth adds depth to the story, making it appealing to audiences who enjoy the vibrant storytelling celebrated by Approach Bollywood.

The comedy in Lulli is a standout, striking a perfect balance between laugh-out-loud moments and heartfelt sincerity. The humor arises organically from Lulli’s reactions to hearing others’ thoughts—often awkward, sometimes hilarious—and her attempts to navigate this newfound power. The screenplay, crafted by Marcelo Andrade, Renato Fagundes, and Thalita Rebouças, is sharp and witty, ensuring the comedy never overshadows the emotional core.

The performances are a true highlight, with Larissa Manoela delivering a star turn as Lulli. Her ability to transition from a self-centered student to a compassionate, self-aware young woman is both convincing and captivating. Manoela’s comedic timing and emotional depth make her the heart of the film. Vinícius Redd brings charm and sincerity to Diego, while Amanda de Godoi’s Vanessa adds a relatable groundedness. The ensemble cast, including Yara Charry, Sérgio Malheiros, and Paula Possani, delivers nuanced performances that elevate the film’s emotional and comedic beats.

In the spirit of Approach Bollywood, Approach Entertainment, and Go Spiritual, Lulli is a film that entertains while inspiring us to be better listeners, more compassionate individuals, and more connected in our relationships. Its blend of humor, heart, and relatable themes makes it a perfect watch for anyone seeking a feel-good story with substance. Whether you’re a fan of Brazilian cinema, romantic comedies, or stories about personal growth, Lulli is a gem that will leave you smiling and reflecting long after the credits roll. Stream it on Netflix today and let Lulli’s journey remind you of the magic of truly hearing those around you.

“Nonnas,” streaming on Netflix, is a delightful biographical comedy-drama that serves up a heartwarming blend of nostalgia, culinary passion, and the enduring power of human connections. Directed by Stephen Chbosky and written by Liz Maccie, this 2025 release is a cinematic tribute to the real-life story of Joe Scaravella, the visionary behind Staten Island’s Enoteca Maria, a restaurant staffed by grandmothers (nonnas) from diverse backgrounds. With a stellar cast led by Vince Vaughn, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Brenda Vaccaro, Linda Cardellini, and Susan Sarandon, “Nonnas” is a soulful dish that resonates deeply with themes of family, friendship, and resilience.

Plot: A Recipe for Emotional Resonance

The story follows Joe Scaravella as he navigates the grief of losing his beloved mother, Maria, and channels his love for her into opening Enoteca Maria, a unique restaurant where nonnas cook authentic, home-style Italian dishes. Set against the backdrop of 1970s Brooklyn and present-day Staten Island, the narrative beautifully weaves Joe’s childhood memories of cooking with his mother and nonna into his present-day quest to recreate their comforting flavors, particularly the elusive Sunday gravy. The plot is both simple and profound, capturing the essence of honoring one’s roots while forging new connections. The challenges Joe faces—local resistance, kitchen mishaps, and personal doubts—add layers of authenticity, making his journey relatable and inspiring.

Performances: A Stellar Ensemble

The cast of “Nonnas” is a standout, bringing warmth and authenticity to every scene. Vince Vaughn delivers a heartfelt performance as Joe Scaravella, balancing vulnerability and determination with his signature charm. His portrayal captures the emotional weight of grief while radiating hope and passion for his dream. Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, and Brenda Vaccaro shine as the nonnas, each bringing a distinct personality to the kitchen. Their chemistry is electric, especially in scenes where they bond over shared stories of love and loss, transforming initial clashes into a sisterhood that feels genuine and uplifting. Susan Sarandon and Linda Cardellini add depth to the supporting roles, with Cardellini’s Olivia serving as a touching romantic subplot that complements the film’s themes. The real-life Joe Scaravella’s cameo as a restaurant guest is a delightful nod to the story’s authenticity.

Engagement: A Feast for the Heart

“Nonnas” is an engaging watch that keeps you invested from start to finish. The film’s pacing is well-balanced, blending humor, drama, and heartfelt moments seamlessly. The scenes of the nonnas cooking, bickering, and bonding are particularly captivating, evoking the warmth of a family kitchen. The film’s climax, where a seemingly failed opening night transforms into a triumphant success, is both emotionally satisfying and uplifting. The inclusion of real-life Enoteca Maria footage during the credits adds a layer of authenticity, reminding viewers of the story’s real-world impact. At 114 minutes, the film feels neither rushed nor dragged, offering a fulfilling narrative arc that leaves you smiling.

Themes: Family, Friendship, and Legacy

At its core, “Nonnas” is a celebration of family and the ties that bind us across generations. The film beautifully captures the idea that food is more than sustenance—it’s a vessel for memories, love, and cultural heritage. Joe’s quest to honor his mother and nonna through Enoteca Maria underscores the importance of preserving family traditions while creating new ones. The theme of friendship shines through in Joe’s relationship with his best friend Bruno, whose unwavering support and sacrifice add emotional depth. The nonnas’ evolving bond highlights how shared experiences can bridge differences, fostering a sense of community. The film’s release on Mother’s Day weekend in 2025, which saw it hit No. 1 in the U.S., further amplifies its resonance as a tribute to maternal figures and the comfort of home.

Final Verdict: A Must-Watch on Netflix

“Nonnas” is a cinematic gem that combines heartfelt storytelling with stellar performances and universal themes. It’s a film that reminds us of the power of food to heal, connect, and inspire. Whether you’re drawn to stories of personal triumph, the charm of Italian cuisine, or the beauty of unlikely friendships, “Nonnas” delivers on all fronts. I highly recommend streaming this film on Netflix for a cozy, uplifting experience that feels like a warm hug from your own nonna. It’s a perfect watch for families, food lovers, and anyone seeking a story that celebrates love, legacy, and the joy of coming together.

Rating: 4/5 Stars

Hey Bollywood buffs and binge-watchers, it’s Sonu Tyagi here from Approach Entertainment & Approach Bollywood, dishing out my unfiltered take on Netflix’s latest gem that’s got nothing to do with song-and-dance numbers but everything to do with gut-busting laughs and those “oh crap, I’ve been there” moments. We’re talking Do Your Worst (2023), the South African comedy that’s currently slaying on Netflix (catch it here: https://www.netflix.com/title/81517420). If you’re craving a break from the masala drama and want something irreverent, raunchy, and real, this is your ticket to a wild night in.

Directed with a sharp eye for the absurd, Do Your Worst follows Sondra (brilliantly played by Shannon Esra), a washed-up actor who’s basically the poster child for “professional mess.” Picture this: a lifetime of epic bad decisions crashing down like a Bollywood villain’s elaborate plot twist, forcing her into a redemption arc that’s equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking. Teamed up with her equally chaotic bestie (Kate Liquorish stealing every scene as the voice of snarky reason) and a parade of quirky sidekicks, Sondra navigates midlife meltdowns, awkward hookups, and those bittersweet “what if” regrets that hit harder than a monsoon downpour.

Do Your Worst Trailer

What elevates this from your standard buddy comedy to a full-on emotional rollercoaster? The writing – oh man, it’s laced with that late-night humor that’s unapologetically adult (TV-MA warning: expect some delightfully dirty dialogue that’ll make you spit out your chai). It’s got the irreverent bite of a stand-up special crossed with the heartfelt chaos of Fleabag, but wrapped in a South African flair that’s refreshingly underrepresented on global screens. The cast is fire: Wayne van Rooyen brings the deadpan charm, Rea Rangaka adds layers of sly wit, and the ensemble (shoutout to Sharon Spiegel Wagner and Dorothy Ann Gould) turns every ensemble scene into comedy gold. Esra’s Sondra is a revelation – vulnerable yet viciously funny, making you root for her even as she’s self-sabotaging like it’s an Olympic sport.

Approach Bollywood’s verdict? In a sea of polished blockbusters, Do Your Worst is the gritty indie soul you didn’t know you needed. It’s raunchy enough to shock your conservative auntie, bittersweet enough to spark a late-night reflection sesh, and funny enough to have you pausing to catch your breath from laughing. Perfect for anyone hitting that midlife “plot twist” or just needing a laugh that feels earned.

Recommendation: 4.5/5 Masala Stars – Stream it now on Netflix if you’re over 18 and under the illusion that life’s all rainbows. Pair it with a stiff drink and zero regrets. Who’s watching with me? Drop your thoughts in the comments – Approach Bollywood wants to hear your worst (and best) life stories!

The Last Laugh (2019), streaming on Netflix, is a delightful and poignant comedy that strikes a chord with its heartfelt exploration of aging, loneliness, and the courage to chase unfulfilled dreams. Directed and written by Greg Pritikin, this film brings together comedy legends Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfuss in a story that is as touching as it is humorous, offering a refreshing take on the lives of senior citizens.

The plot follows Al Hart (Chevy Chase), a retired talent manager who reconnects with his former client, Buddy Green (Richard Dreyfuss), a once-promising comedian who abandoned the spotlight 50 years ago for a quieter life. When the two reunite in a retirement village, Al convinces Buddy to embark on one last comedy tour, reigniting old ambitions and confronting the “what-ifs” that have lingered for decades. What unfolds is a cross-country journey filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and a powerful message about living life to the fullest, no matter one’s age.

What makes The Last Laugh truly engaging is its ability to balance humor with the emotional weight of its themes. The film sensitively portrays the loneliness often faced by senior citizens, as seen in Al’s initial reluctance to embrace retirement home life and Buddy’s quiet regret over his abandoned comedy career. Pritikin masterfully weaves these moments of vulnerability into a narrative that celebrates resilience and the joy of rediscovery. The chemistry between Chase and Dreyfuss is electric, their bickering and camaraderie evoking the charm of an old married couple, while their performances bring authenticity and warmth to the story.

The film’s exploration of pursuing happiness in life’s later stages is both inspiring and universal. Buddy’s decision to hit the road for one last shot at comedy, especially after learning he is battling pancreatic cancer, serves as a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to follow your passion. The inclusion of vibrant characters like Doris (Andie MacDowell), who brings a free-spirited energy to Al’s life, further enriches the narrative, showing that new connections and adventures can blossom at any age.

The Last Laugh also shines in its subtle commentary on the passage of time and the importance of seizing the moment. The film’s climax, with Buddy performing on the iconic Ed Sullivan Theater stage, is a triumphant and emotional nod to second chances, leaving viewers with a sense of hope and fulfillment. The dedication to Paul Mazursky adds a layer of reverence for classic storytelling, which this film upholds beautifully.

Approach Bollywood recommends The Last Laugh for its engaging plot, heartfelt performances, and uplifting message. It’s a film that not only entertains but also encourages viewers to reflect on their own dreams and the joy of living life fully, no matter the stage. For anyone seeking a blend of laughter and inspiration, this Netflix gem is a must-watch.

Mumbai, June 21, 2025 – Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated return to the silver screen with Sitaare Zameen Par has ignited a wave of reactions from critics and audiences alike. Directed by R.S. Prasanna and released on June 20, 2025, this sports comedy-drama, a spiritual successor to the 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par, has been lauded for its emotional depth, inclusive message, and heartfelt performances, though some reviews note it falls short of its predecessor’s magic. Approach Bollywood brings you a roundup of the media’s take on this inspiring remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions.

    A Heartwarming Tale of Transformation

Sitaare Zameen Par follows Gulshan Arora (Aamir Khan), a brash and politically incorrect basketball coach sentenced to community service after a DUI incident and a clash with his superior. Tasked with coaching a team of neurodivergent adults, including those with Down syndrome and autism, Gulshan’s journey evolves from prejudice to profound personal growth. The film, also starring Genelia Deshmukh as his estranged wife Suneeta, blends humor and compassion to deliver a message of inclusivity and acceptance.

The Times of India awarded the film 3.5 stars, calling it a “heartwarming family watch that blends comedy, compassion, and charm.” The review praises Aamir’s portrayal of a flawed yet evolving coach and the “energy, authenticity, and warmth” brought by the ensemble cast of debutants, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, and Naman Misra. However, it notes that the pacing suffers in parts and the climax feels overly sentimental.

    Critical Acclaim with Caveats

Filmfare gave Sitaare Zameen Par a glowing 4/5, with critic Devesh Sharma writing, “More than anything else, it asks us to broaden our definition of what it means to be ‘normal’ and to embrace difference with an open heart.” The review highlights the film’s ability to balance humor with a powerful message, crediting the supporting cast and Aamir’s nuanced performance for its emotional impact.

Koimoi echoes this sentiment, praising the “honest performances” and “dialogues that don’t come across as preachy.” It notes that the film’s core message—every individual has their own ‘normal’—resonates deeply, though tighter editing could have enhanced the pace. Aamir’s transformation from an “unabashedly ignorant” coach to a vulnerable learner is singled out as a highlight.

However, not all reviews are unanimously glowing. The Hindu offers a more critical perspective, describing the film as “annoying” despite its good intentions. It argues that the narrative leans too heavily on Aamir’s didactic style, with every scene yielding a lesson, and the neurodivergent characters lack the depth given to the protagonist in Taare Zameen Par. “An ideal Aamir Khan film can be both entertaining and edifying. But when the balance tilts, it’s just annoying,” the review states.

Indian Express reports mixed audience reactions, with some calling it an “easy crowd pleaser with moral lessons” but others finding it “repetitive” and lacking the “extraordinary touch” of Aamir’s greatest works. The film’s box office performance, with an opening day collection of Rs 3.89 crore across 6,000 screens in India, reflects strong initial interest but suggests it may not match the legacy of its predecessor.

    Standout Performances and Emotional Impact

The film’s ensemble cast, particularly the neurodivergent debutants, has been a focal point of praise. Hindustan Times notes that the second half “soars,” with sequences bringing “the house down” thanks to actors like Brijendra Kala and the “adorable” Dolly Ahluwalia. Genelia Deshmukh’s sincere performance as Suneeta complements Aamir’s, though some reviews, like The Times of India’s, suggest her character lacks depth.

Sudha Murty, who attended a special screening, called the film an “eye-opener” for its sensitive portrayal of special needs, emphasizing its potential to promote inclusivity. “This movie can bring a lot of change,” she said, as shared by Aamir Khan’s production house.

A Mixed Bag with a Strong Message

While Sitaare Zameen Par has been hailed as the “finest film of 2025” by trade analyst Sumit Kadel for its perspective-shifting narrative, some social media reactions on platforms like BookMyShow label it “pathetic” and “boring,” criticizing its direction and lack of twists. Despite these critiques, the film’s emotional resonance and strong word-of-mouth, as noted by Times of India, suggest it’s striking a chord with audiences seeking a wholesome, family-friendly experience.

    Aamir’s Return and Industry Buzz

Aamir Khan’s return after a three-year hiatus, following Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), has added to the film’s buzz. The star-studded Mumbai premiere, attended by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and others, generated headlines, with SRK’s heartfelt interactions with the neurodivergent cast earning widespread praise online. The film’s music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and a background score by Ram Sampath, has also been celebrated for enhancing its emotional sequences.

    Final Verdict

Sitaare Zameen Par is a heartfelt addition to Aamir Khan’s legacy of socially conscious cinema, delivering laughter, tears, and a powerful message about inclusivity. While it may not reach the emotional heights of Taare Zameen Par, its blend of humor and heart makes it a compelling watch for families and fans alike. As one viewer on X aptly put it, “Bachchon ke liye wholesome, parents ke liye heart-touching: Don’t miss the moment.”

Mumbai, April 19, 2025 – Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, has hit theaters today and is already earning widespread praise from critics and audiences alike. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, this historical courtroom drama, a spiritual sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Kesari, dives into the aftermath of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, shedding light on lawyer C. Sankaran Nair’s courageous legal battle against the British Empire.

Film critic Deepak Dua, in his review on CineYatra, lauded the film’s emotional depth and stellar performances, calling it a “hard-hitting tribute to an untold chapter of India’s freedom struggle.” Dua highlighted Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Nair as “a masterclass in intensity and vulnerability,” noting that his courtroom scenes are “bound to leave audiences with goosebumps.” He also praised Ananya Panday’s “confident and nuanced” performance as Dilreet Gill and R. Madhavan’s “compelling” turn as advocate Neville McKinley, adding that the film’s meticulous research and evocative storytelling make it a must-watch.

The buzz around Kesari Chapter 2 has been amplified by glowing reviews from Bollywood celebrities and netizens. Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram, describing the film as “an untold story told with grit, sincerity, and sensitivity,” while Urmila Matondkar called it “spectacular” and urged fans not to miss it. On X, users have hailed the film as a “cinematic explosion of patriotism, power, and pride,” with one post raving, “Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan’s performances are outstanding, and the visuals are stunning. A must-watch for every Indian!”

Based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, the film has been praised for its unflinching portrayal of the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy and its call for a long-overdue apology from the British government. Critics have also commended Tyagi’s directorial debut for balancing historical accuracy with commercial appeal, with the song Teri Mitti from the original Kesari making a soul-stirring return.

Despite a modest opening day collection of approximately ₹7.5 crore, trade analysts predict strong word-of-mouth will propel the film’s box office performance, especially given its 17.4% occupancy rate and enthusiastic evening show turnout. The film’s patriotic fervor and emotional resonance have struck a chord, with audiences calling it “an education and an emotion” for younger generations.

Kesari Chapter 2 is produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. With its powerful narrative and stellar cast, the film is poised to be a significant addition to Bollywood’s historical drama genre, reminding viewers of the sacrifices that shaped India’s independence.

As a filmmaker and storyteller, I’ve encountered countless narratives, but few carry the emotional depth of How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, now streaming on Netflix. This beautifully crafted film is a heartfelt reminder of the timeless bond between generations, underscored by themes of love, family, and the wisdom of elders. While it begins with a slow and steady pace, it blossoms into a poignant journey that leaves you with tears in your eyes and a heart full of cherished memories.

    A Story Rooted in Emotion

At the heart of the story is the touching relationship between a young, ambitious grandson and his wise, loving grandmother. Their portrayal is the film’s soul, anchoring the narrative with authenticity and warmth. But what elevates this film even further is how every character contributes meaningfully to the story, with performances that are natural and impactful, creating a world that feels real and relatable.

    Performances That Resonate

The grandmother’s character, brimming with wisdom and tenderness, becomes the emotional cornerstone of the film. The grandson’s journey of self-discovery is equally compelling, capturing the dualities of ambition and familial loyalty. Every actor in the ensemble cast has delivered nuanced performances, making each character memorable and adding layers to the narrative.

    Masterful Direction and Craftsmanship

The director weaves this tale with a delicate touch, ensuring every scene carries emotional weight. The cinematography complements the intimacy of the story, while the music underscores its most heartfelt moments without overshadowing the performances. It’s a testament to how simplicity in filmmaking, when done right, can create something extraordinary.

    Why I Recommend This Film

How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies is more than just a film; it’s a celebration of the relationships and memories that define our lives. It’s a story that makes you pause, reflect, and appreciate the wisdom and love shared by the older generations. As a creator, I found it deeply inspiring, and as a viewer, it moved me profoundly.

    Final Thoughts

This film is a cinematic treasure that lingers with you long after the credits roll. I highly recommend How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies to anyone who values heartfelt storytelling. It’s an unforgettable experience that reminds us of the power of family, the beauty of simple moments, and the lessons that shape our lives.

After 24 years of working in journalism, media, and the film industry, I’ve witnessed movies that shock, movies that amaze, and movies that simply confuse. Despatch, directed by Kanu Behl and streaming on Zee5, unfortunately falls into a fourth category—a baffling headache-inducing experience that tests your patience and sanity.

Starring Manoj Bajpayee—an actor of immense talent—this film reduces him to an unnecessary portrayal of nudity and bizarre sequences that add absolutely nothing to the narrative. Bajpayee plays a journalist tangled in a convoluted world of crime, politics, and betrayal, working for a fictional newspaper named Despatch. What could have been an intriguing thriller ends up being an indecipherable mess.

    A Story That Doesn’t Exist

The film’s plot (if one can even call it that) is nearly impossible to follow. Kanu Behl attempts to take viewers through the underbelly of investigative journalism, but instead, we’re dragged into a whirlwind of disconnected scenes, sluggish pacing, and head-scratching dialogues. It feels as though the movie didn’t know what it wanted to be—a noir thriller, an intellectual commentary, or something else entirely.

Bajpayee’s character is caught between exposing conspiracies and grappling with his own dilemmas, but none of it translates into anything meaningful on-screen. The story lacks coherence, the characters lack depth, and most importantly, there is no emotional connection to any part of the film.

    Unnecessary Boldness

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room—the forced nudity and so-called bold content. If Despatch wanted to push boundaries, it did so in the most unproductive way possible. The nudity seems gratuitous, the adult themes unnecessary, and the execution lazy. If you’re going to make such content, at least back it up with a story that keeps the audience engaged.

Instead, we’re left asking: Why? Why was Manoj Bajpayee subjected to these poorly justified sequences? Why did the film feel like it was trying so hard to be edgy without a shred of creativity?

    Technical Aspects

The cinematography and production design, though passable, cannot save this disaster. The dark and gritty visuals fail to create any suspense because the storytelling itself lacks focus. The editing is jarring, leaving scenes hanging with no sense of rhythm or resolution. Background music, meant to amplify tension, ends up being as confusing as the script.

    Dimaag Ki Dahi

Watching Despatch feels less like experiencing a film and more like enduring an ordeal. It’s the kind of movie that will leave you reaching for a headache tablet first and, perhaps ironically, something light and entertaining later—like xxx films that at least know their purpose. Despatch tries to be smart but ends up being pretentious and painfully boring.

    Final Thoughts

Kanu Behl’s Despatch is a classic example of wasted potential. With a brilliant actor like Manoj Bajpayee and the premise of investigative journalism, this film had all the ingredients to deliver a gripping thriller. Instead, it delivers confusion, frustration, and dimaag ki dahi.

If you value your time and sanity, skip this one.
